LatahEagle newspaper work
I got my first job before I graduated from journalism college at the University of Idaho.
Spoiler alert: My first publisher is now my mother-in-law!
March 2001 to March 2004
UI Vandal graduate
I graduated with a Journalism & Mass Communication degree with a Sociology minor from the University of Idaho.
1999-2003
Military newspaper experience
I worked as a civilian contractor inside the 2nd Bomb Wing Public Affairs office (and then off-base) for the weekly military newspaper at Barksdale AFB, La.
August 2005 to October 2008
Village meeting coverage
I worked for 4 months in Belvidere, Ill., covering an annexation and village meetings for a rural weekly newspaper.
October 2008 to February 2009
Daily newspaper work
The only time I worked in the daily newspaper industry was for 18 months in Missouri. I did do weekly newspaper layout as part of my Delivery Desk duties.
March 2009 to August 2010
Small town rural journalism
I worked for 4.5 years in a rural Tri-County community in Kansas doing full-time news editor work.
August 2010 to November 2014
The move to marketing
I worked a second job to manage an antique store while still doing newspaper work. That was my first marketing job outside the newspaper industry.
December 2013 to June 2015
Insurance marketing
I moved home to Idaho and worked in insurance marketing and communication. I also did cold calls to businesses and mailed newsletters to clients.
July 2015 to July 2023
Nonprofit marketing
I got my third job doing part-time marketing work for an international housing nonprofit.
November 2023 to February 2025
Creation of Stephanie’s Biz Services, LLC
I took the leap to start my own business. I enjoy the flexibility of working from home and I’ve always been an independent worker. Plus I’d love to help more businesses through this opportunity.
