I met Bob Dole in Kansas in 2015 while he visited Abilene, Kan., at the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum.
Throughout my career, I lived in 6 and worked in 5 different states. Most of this time was spent doing newspaper work for weekly local publications.
I say I had “three strikes” in the newspaper business because there were 3 of the 4 positions when I had my hours cut, I needed to relocate, or it was requested to take a 26% pay reduction to continue working in my position.
While working in Herington, Kan., from 2010-2014 for the local newspaper, I got a second job doing marketing work to publicize an antiques and handcrafted furniture store. I did both jobs for 11 months before I left the newspaper industry.
Learning marketing skills to bring customers into a rural town from Salina, Manhattan, Wichita and Kansas helped me to expand visibility for my next two marketing opportunities.
When I moved back to Idaho, I got my first job in an insurance agency office. I started doing mailed letters and eventually did cold calls for business to business quote opportunities.
After 8 years, I left the insurance industry in July 2023. I joined the local Habitat office four months later to help with marketing. I use Facebook, Craigslist, TikTok, Instagram, Canva and Constant Contact to share about our ReStore sales and more. As of September 2024, I’m still helping the Habitat office but want to help more people in more industries.
So how can I help your business with my skills?
Contact me if you are ready to discuss my experiences and what I can do for you. You don’t have to be near me in Idaho. I can work with you from any state in the U.S.

I stayed very busy working in the insurance office. Each day had something new to do and each month had the same ongoing opportunities to stay busy!
